The Party Goes On

As long as the sound of the tick

As short as the wait of a new year

Live life for the party goes on

Invited to this losing struggle of life

Invited to this beautiful mess

Live life for the party goes on

No saviour awaits you

For the saviours couldn’t save themselves

Live life for the party goes on

Serve yourself and have your fill

Serve others but have your fill

Live life for the party goes on

I have had my fill

Tasted every assortment at the buffet

Live life for the party goes on

To love and be loved

I should have loved more

Live life for the party goes on

But how could I love fullest

When love felt lonely

Live life for the party goes on

The smile of a new-born

The grief after the long gone

Live life for the party goes on

I know this party goes on

For I came to meet it

But I beheld this great evil at this party

Men fearing to be themselves

Living for other men and their gods

But I feared neither men nor their gods

Oh I feared wearing the face of another man

But I feared no more

Life is too short not to be yourself

So whatever you heard about me

Were they from men with masks

Take heed and not live by them

If what they say I said cannot be found here

Know that they are men with masks

I had only one mask

For I left this party wearing that mask

Because I had no option than to wear my face

So hold on to your face

For the party will still go on without you

But who are you if you wore another face

Live life for the party goes on

What’s next in Peter’s Box? ¡Hasta luego amigos!
